For those interested in buying a box....

Hello again to all of you who have already voiced their interest!

Things are coming along quite well for our first box. Thankyou for your support, it has meant there have been plenty of business willing to contribute after seeing your enthusiasm!

At this stage the first box will go out early August and will cost $30 (this price was revised from $35 after checking post costs- thanks to Celia for her feedback!)

It will be sold on Etsy, which you will need to sign up for. It is free and is a secure site to purchase with credit card or Paypal. It is also the site where you will be able to find a lot of our contributors.

At this stage we would like to know from you whether you would rather preorder or be given a time and day that the box will go on sale. It would be very much appreciated if you can vote for what you want on the poll on the side bar- this is your box, tell us what you would like! :)

So what do you get for your money? A minimum of 20 sample sized products from our contributors that are all small scale, indie, Australian dyers, spinners and fibre related product producers. It is a mix of all sorts of items, like getting a lucky dip! We will be putting all of the contributors details on this blog so you can see what else they offer and we will make a video of a sneak peak of products included, so if you miss out on a box, you can still see what is out there for Aussie artisans.

I am sure I am forgetting details right now, so if you think of anything that I should be mentioning, please drop me a line or leave a comment.

Once again, thanks for all the interest everyone!
JD

  1. Perhaps a combination of pre-order and non pre-order.. as in you can pre-order and be guaranteed a box or not pre-order and wait for it to come out then run the risk of missing out.

  2. I definitely would prefer a pre-order.

  3. Thanks Marg and Celia,

That is definately an idea to do both. That might be best given the huge demand so far :)

  4. Definitely pre order if the numbers are limited. It's really difficult to stalk things at a particular time with work, life etc.

  5. Just to clarify with preorder, there would still be limited spots unless we can convince business to send out even more samples, but it would mean that you would have a custom listing for yourself and would know before hand, rather than sitting online only to be disappointed.
If you miss out on this first month though, I will happily put you on a waiting list for the following month.
If anyone knows of any businesses who would want to be apart of this, we would still love to hear from them! :)

  7. i like the idea of a combination of both a pre-order and a oppertunity to pounce. this is such a great idea as i am trying hard to only buy from aussie indie dyers and spinners. but i only know of a few and would love to get to know more of them.

  8. I would need to pre-order. Internet is dodgy here.

  9. Ditto with the preordering, as I'm going travelling soon and my internet will be spotty for a bit.

  10. I like the pre-order thing - I am notoriously unlucky at getting the jackpot for sneak ups and the kids always distract me at the crucial moment

so whack my name down JD !
